BHAV 497: Behavioral Healthcare Internship Preparation

This course prepares BHAV students to locate, apply for, and secure an approved internship site. Students use the tools and materials developed in BHAV 340 to identify appropriate placements, communicate with potential sites, complete a mock interview, and work with the instructor to finalize an internship plan and required documentation. This class may include students from multiple sections.

Prerequisites

Bachelor's Program Admittance to Behavioral Healthcare Degree; Concurrent enrollment in BHAV 340

  1. Identify and evaluate appropriate BHAV internship sites using resources and skills introduced in BHAV 340.
  2. Apply professional communication and application practices to internship outreach using resume and cover letter materials developed in BHAV 340.
  3. Demonstrate readiness for workplace expectations including professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate conduct.
  4. Confirm internship site alignment, supervision plan, and required documentation prior to starting hours.
