NATR 130: Water Quality Stream Habitat Monitoring

Healthy forests and communities rely on clean rivers and streams. Students will learn how to collect data to assess the conditions and quality of watersheds. Class includes sustainable practices that reduce the human impact on water quality and stream habitat. This class may include students from multiple sections.

This class has a $30 natural resources course fee.

  1. Describe key steps for designing an effective stream habitat monitoring system.

  3. Collect and analyze water quality data.
  4. Develop a stream habitat monitoring and restoration plan.
  5. Design a watershed assessment that analyzes causes of habitat and biological degradation.
