- Describe key concepts related to the diversity of multilingual learners and how they relate to teaching and learning.
- Demonstrate understanding of the major theories of first and second language acquisition and the ways they relate to teaching and learning.
- Analyze the academic language/language demands in elementary resources using knowledge of the system of language/linguistics and present findings.
- Apply instructional strategies appropriate for language learners that reflect the principles for exemplary teaching of English learners.
- Develop the language targets and linguistic supports for students at various levels of language proficiency.
