EDUC 330: The Teacher as Leader I

Teacher Candidates will explore what leadership is, how/why they are leaders, and various models of teacher leadership. Specific opportunities/responsibilities to lead as professionals (with peers, students, families, paraprofessionals) will be considered. This class may include students from multiple sections.

Prerequisites

Teacher Education BAS Program Admittance

  1. Define Teacher Leadership and develop a plan for yourself as a leader, considering the multiple stakeholders with whom you interact.
  2. Demonstrate understanding of the Washington State code of professional conduct for education practitioners and how such standards can empower teachers as leaders.
  3. Demonstrate understanding of the paraeducator standards of practice and how knowledge of these standards better prepares teachers to lead in ways that best serve students.
