BASED 80: World Languages

This theme-based course focuses on world languages with an independent study option for high school credit in world languages. Students can choose from multiple languages such as Spanish, French, American Sign Language, or Klallam. This class may include students from multiple sections.

  1. Interpret words and phrases as they are used in a text, including determining technical, connotative, and figurative meanings. (CCRS Reading Anchor 4)
  2. Integrate and evaluate content presented in diverse media and formats, including visually and quantitatively, as well as in words. (CCRS Reading Anchor 7)
  3. Produce clear and coherent writing in which the development, organization, and style are appropriate to task, purpose, and audience. (CCRS Writing Anchor 4)
  4. Prepare for and participate effectively in a range of conversations and collaborations with diverse partners, building on others' ideas and expressing their own clearly and persuasively. (CCRS Speaking and Listening Anchor 1)
  5. Integrate and evaluate information presented in diverse media and formats, including visually, quantitatively, and orally. (CCRS Speaking and Listening Anchor 2)
