EDUC 360: Curriculum and Instruction

Focused on engaging in instructional planning and design, Teacher Candidates examine diverse, representative pedagogical approaches to teaching and learning. Starting with standards and considering the needs of individual learners, Teacher Candidates engage deeply in the process of planning for differentiation and engagement grounded culturally and trauma informed theory and practice. This class may include students from multiple sections.

Prerequisites

Teacher Education BAS Program Admittance; Concurrent enrollment in EDUC 365

  1. Explain how learning theories, developmental progression, and learner differences influence instructional planning.
  2. Articulate what equitable lesson and unit planning for each and every learner should/could look like.
  3. Plan and implement instruction based on state and national standards, learner characteristics, and context of school and community.
  4. Create lesson plans incorporating a broad spectrum of instructional methods, differentiating instructional strategies based on learner characteristics in practicum.
  5. Align instructional methods and assessments with standards.
